Erin L. Hurd, Law Clerk (with a focus on Estate Planning)
Erin is originally from the small town of Buies Creek, North Carolina and relocated
to Raleigh, North Carolina last year to attend Campbell University’s School of Law.
Erin has a six year old son named Kealeb and is the oldest daughter of Hank and
Martha Hurd of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.
Erin graduated from Harnett Central High School in 2002 where she was a member of
the varsity cheerleading team. In 2002, Erin began her undergraduate studies at
the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. In 2003, she transferred to Campbell
University to begin the Trust and Investment Management Program, the only program
of its kind in the United States. Erin graduated from Campbell University in 2006
with a B.B.A. in Trust and Investment Management and a Minor in Financial Planning.
Prior to becoming part of the staff at Western Wake Law Group, Erin spent two years
working as a Trust Associate at U.S. Trust managing trust accounts for high net
worth clients. Although she enjoyed her job at U.S. Trust, Erin’s life-long dream
was to become a lawyer. In the summer of 2008, Erin decided to leave the bank and
head back to Campbell University to attend their Law School. After completing her
first year of law school, Erin was accepted to the Masters in Trust and Wealth Management
program offered at the University’s RTP campus. Erin plans to graduate in May 2011
with both a Juris Doctor degree and a degree in Masters in Trust and Wealth Management.
Erin joined WWLG in July of 2009. As a law clerk at the Firm, she plans to gain
experience as she prepares to practice law. Erin is responsible for the day to day
operation of the Estate Planning department of the Firm. For most Estate Planning
clients, Erin will be their first point of contact. Among other things, she schedules
will conferences and will signing ceremonies, assists clients in the completion
of our online fillable Estate Planning Questionnaire and provides answers to client’s
estate planning questions when asked. Erin brings to WWLG her positive attitude,
hard working values and incredible intellectual and organizational skills, which
has led her to success in many areas of her life. Above all, her friendly nature
and ability to think quickly on her feet has become a great asset to the Firm.
On a personal note, Erin has one sister, Lindsey Hurd. Lindsey is a student at Meredith
University seeking a Masters Degree in Nutrition. Erin is a member Providence Baptist
Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. When Erin isn’t working or studying, she enjoys
attending her son’s basketball and soccer games, taking vacations to her family’s
beach house, and spending time at the local YMCA. Erin looks forward to completing
both her Law and Masters Degrees and practicing law in the near future.
