R. Christopher Cabaniss, Attorney/Co-Founding Partner
Mr. Cabaniss grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia and relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina
after high school to attend North Carolina State University. Mr. Cabaniss received
his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Criminal Justice from NC State University in May,
1997 and his Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law in May of 2001.
While attending NC State University, he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity,
participated in intramural athletics and also served as a Student Senator for the
NC State University Student Government Association.
During his time at Regent University School of Law, he was a member of the Client
Counseling and Dispute Resolution Board (1999-2001), and served as Secretary for
the 2000-01 school year. He also served as Student Representative for Westlaw during
this time. Mr. Cabaniss was also a member of American Bar Association/Law Student
Division.
Prior to co-founding Western Wake Law Group, Mr. Cabaniss began his career as an
associate attorney with the Raleigh law firm of K. Edward Eley & Associates. He
practiced with that firm until September, 2003 when he and two other former associates
founded Parker Hauser & Cabaniss, PLLC. Mr. Cabaniss practiced as a partner with
Parker Hauser & Cabaniss, PLLC until September, 2009. While with Parker Hauser &
Cabaniss, PLLC, Mr. Cabaniss limited his practice areas to Residential and Commercial
Real Estate, Estate Planning and Family Law.
With the opening of WWLG in October of 2009, Mr. Cabaniss continues to practice
law but now limits his practice areas to Residential and Commercial Real Estate
and Estate Planning and leaves Family Law to those attorneys that actually enjoy
it.
Mr. Cabaniss is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the Wake County
Bar Association and the Tenth Judicial District Bar Association. He also has been
a past member of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. He
is also active with the Cary Chamber of Commerce and the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of
Commerce.
On a personal note, when Mr. Cabaniss isn’t in the office working on Real Estate
transactions or preparing Estate Planning documents, he enjoys spending time with
his family, playing golf (and pretty much any other sport), watching NC State athletic
events (even though that’s tough to do sometimes), being involved with his church
and reading.
